Gas Prices Continue Downward Trend
You might have noticed that it’s costing a little less to fill up your tank. Gas prices have been on a decline over the last few weeks. Right now the average gas price in Cocke County is $2.53, but prices are quite a bit cheaper near Exit 432 compared to Exit 435. Jefferson County’s gas prices equal Cocke County with an average of $2.53. Hamblen County is at $2.52. The highest prices in the area are in Sevier County at $2.60, but most locations in the eastern part of the county are quite a bit lower than that average price. The lowest gas prices in the area are in Greene County with an average price of $2.47.
As of Tuesday morning (12/9) in the state of Tennessee, the AAA says the average price for gas sits at $2.59. The lowest gas prices are in Henry County at $2.38. The highest are in Williamson County at $3.00.. That is the only county in Tennessee with $3 a gallon gas.
Nationally, the average price for gas is now under $3 for the first time in four years. The national average is $2.94. Oklahoma has the lowest average price at $2.37, while the highest is in California at $4.44.
