Gov. Lee and AK Skrmetti Looking Into Allegations Against FEMA
Governor Bill Lee has instructed the state’s attorney general Jonathan Skrmetti to investigate allegations that FEMA agents discriminated against Trump supporters in Florida. The allegations came to light after a whistleblower at the federal agency stated that FEMA workers were instructed by a superior to bypass homes in Florida damaged by Hurricane Helene if they had signs supporting now President-elect Donald Trump. That FEMA official issuing that directive was later fired.
Governor Bill Lee wants to find out if the same thing was happening in East Tennessee. Lee described the incident that happened in Florida is a prime example of government being weaponized against those opposed to the Biden-Harris administration. Lee added in a post on social media that he was looking forward to President-elect Trump taking swift action to remove partisans in government offices when he returns to office in January.
