Grainger County Man Sentenced To 292 Months In Prison
A Grainger County man will spend more than 2 decades behind bars for taking a 12 year old girl from her home and then having a sexual relationship with her. According to federal court documents, now 28 year-old Patrick E. McAneny Jr of Rutledge began an online relationship with a 12 year old girl. Then on February 4, 2024, McAneny traveled from his home in Rutledge to pick up the 12 year old from her home in Hamblen County. Her family reported her missing the same day.
McAneny then took to the girl to his home in Grainger County where over the next couple days, he took pictures and also video recorded the minor and himself engaged in sexual acts. He then sent one of the videos to a third party online. That person then contacted law enforcement, which led them to finding the girl at McAneny’s home.
Last week in federal court in Greeneville, McAneny plead guilty to count one of an indictment charging him with use of a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing a visual depiction of such conduct. Federal judge Clifton Corker then sentenced McAneny to 292 months in prison, or just over 24 years. He will then be on supervised release for 20 years and will be required to register with state sex offender registries and comply with special sex offender conditions during his period of supervised release.
