Greene County Man Faces Drug Charges In Cocke County

A man wanted in Greene County now is facing drug charges in Cocke County after an incident Friday afternoon. A traffic stop was attempted on a white GMC SUV due to not having brake lights. The SUV was spotted on East Hwy 25/70 before turning onto Cosby Hwy southbound. The driver of the SUV suddenly turned into the parking lot for CVS and drove through the lot at a high speed, crossed Mulberry Street and entered the parking lot for the Newport Community Center before stopping his vehicle and taking off on foot. The male subject fell in a residential yard near White Oak Ave and was taken into custody. 26 year old Deekota Price had both methamphetamine and marijuana on his person. When police searched the SUV, they found more of both…4 grams of meth and another gram of marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia and schedule I mushrooms.

Price was also found to be wanted for vehicle theft in Greene County. He faces a long list of charges now in Cocke County including Schedule I, II and VI drug possession and Evading Arrest.
