Greeneville Man Charged With Child Sex Crime In White Pine

A Greeneville man has been arrested after an investrigation into allegations of child sexual abuse in White Pine. The arrest of 58 year old Thomas Payne of Greeneville comes after an investigation into allegations involving incidents that occurred between January 2022 and December 2023.

Payne is being charged with one count of Rape of a Child and five counts of Aggravated Sexual Battery. The White Pine Police Department says due to the nature of the alleged crimes and the age of the victim, further details are not being released at this time. The White Pine Police Department says that the case remians under investigation and further charges are expected to be filed.
