Guard Attacked At Juvenile Detention Facility

Dandridge Police are investigating after three juveniles at a detention facility attacked a guard, leaving him in critical condition. According to the Dandridge Police department, a guard at Mountain View Youth Development Center had disciplined a male inmate earlier. Later that guard was in that same unit and three males jumped the guard, took his pepper spray from, him and commenced to use it on him. They then beat the guard with their fists and feet. Police say the attack lasted several minutes. The results of the investigation are bring turned over to the District Attorney’s office. The three juveniles are due to appear at a hearing next month.
