HAGERTY AGAINST BIDEN’S PLAN
Tennessee’s US Senator Bill Hagerty was in Nashville yesterday. Hagerty is speaking out against President Joe Biden’s $2.3 Trillion Infrastructure Plan. Hagery admits Tennessee needs funding to address critical infrastructure projects, such as roads, railways and broadband…but Hagerty says he is opposed to the president’s plan because it includes funds for projects other than infrastructure improvements. The plan would indeed allocate $621 billion for roads, bridges, rails and electric vehicles, but it also includes funding for affordable housing, health care expansion, climate change research and other areas that Hagerty calls “a sweeping spending spree full of pet projects for Democrats.”
Hagerty said the government should invest only in projects with “a real benefit and payback for taxpayers.” Tennessee’s other US Senator Marsha Blackburn is also opposed to the president’s proposed plan.
