Hamblen Co. Jail CO Arrested

A Hamblen County Corrections officer is in the Hamblen County jail…but on the wrong side of the bars. On a tip last week, Hamblen County Sheriff’s Department officers surveilled the parking lot of the Sheriff’s Department. They watched as a woman identified as Ashley Morgan placed an object under the windshield wiper of a red SUV in the parking lot. They then watched as corrections officer Charles Jarrett retrieved the object from the SUV’s windshield and took it into the jail. The 26 year old Jarrett was immediately taken to an interview room for questioning. Jarrett admitted the drugs were to be delivered to a jail inmate. Jarrett was then arrested and charged with two counts of possession/manufacture/sale and delivery of narcotics…plus introduction of contraband into a penal facility. He is currently being held in the Hamblen County jail.
