Hancock County Man Arrested In Cocke County

A 44 year old Hancock County man is facing drug charges in Cocke County after a traffic stop. 44 year old Jamey Waddell of Sneedville was spotted by a Cocke County deputy at a stop light on west Hwy 25/70 in Newport with expired tags on his Toyota Corolla. Waddell was observed looking in his rear view mirror at the deputy and reaching in different areas of his vehicle. Waddell continued to reach around in his vehicle after the light turned green and was pulled over. He gave consent for his car to be searched and in the driver’s side door, a pipe commonly used to smoke methamphetamine was found along with 2 grams of the illegal drug. A scale was also found in Waddell’s car. he is now charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Sell.
