Heartland Cabinet Factory Outlet Victim Of Theft
The Cocke County Sheriff’s office looking into a theft that happened sometime between Wednesday night (4/8) and early Thursday morning (4/9) at Heartland Cabinet Factory Outlet in Newport. John Neal told the sheriff’s office that he arrived Thursday morning just before 9am and found the roll up garage door completely opened and 60-75 cabinets were missing. The business is currently going through a bankruptcy process and an auction company out of Knoxville is handling the inventory. Brian Phillips of Powell auction and Realty told the sheriff’s office the missing cabinets are valued at around $7,000. At the time the sheriff’s filed this report, they had not gained access to camera footage from a nearby church to see if they could spot the theft.
