Hendon Hooker Up For Another Award
The accolades continue for UT quarterback Hendon Hooker. One day after being named a finalist for the Johnny Unitas Award for the top upperclassman qb…it was announced on Wednesday that Hooker is one of 20 semifinalists for the sixth annual Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year. That award focuses mainly on a player’s leadership skills as all semifinalists have demonstrated a record of leadership by exhibiting exceptional courage, integrity and sportsmanship. Besides a trophy honoring them, the winner of the Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year will also receive a $10,000 contribution in his name to his school’s athletic scholarship fund. Those 20 semifinalists will be whittled down to three finalists for the award on December 14th. The winner will be announced at an award ceremony on February 23rd in Frisco, Texas.
