Hit & Run Leads To Marijuana Find
Friday the discovery of a vehicle involved in a hit and run led to a large marijuana bust. Cocke County deputies had received a tip that a vehicle matching the description one involved in a hit and run in Hamblen County was at a home in Bybee on Hwy 160. Information was that Robin Sutton of that address was driving the Honda Accord involved in that hit and run. When deputies arrived at the home they were told that Robin Sutton had fled on foot into the woods around the house. Deputies did not find Robin Sutton in the woods but they found what is suspected to be Sutton’s marijuana farm…196 plants in pots. The plants were seized and the vehicle towed from that residence. Deputies were later called that Sutton was back at that address…this time Cocke County deputies arrested Sutton and charged him with drug charges for the marijuana….Sutton told deputies that he hasn’t worked in 4 years and can’t afford marijuana so he grows his own…trying to explain the 196 plants.
