Holiday Weekend Traffic Statistics Released
The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security has released the preliminary statistics for traffic accidents and deaths over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. There were 8 traffic fatalities during the 2025 Thanksgiving holiday travel period. That equals the same number of fatalities recorded during the 2024 Thanksgiving Holiday weekend. The fatal accidents happened all across the state including one in East Tennessee. The accidents were in McNairy, Shelby, Marion, Washington, Wilson, Williamson and Franklin county…the only county with two fatalities reported.
Tennessee Highway Patrol says troopers responded to 902 motorist assist calls statewide. These calls included disabled vehicles, flat tires, and other roadside incidents.
Troopers also investigated 566 property damage crashes and 243 injury crashes during the holiday period which ran from Tuesday November 25 to Monday December 1 at 6 a.m.
