Illinois Woman Arrested for TennCare Fraud
A woman who lives in Illinois has been arrested for TennCare fraud. In a joint effort between the Mcminn County Sheriff’s Department and the Office of the Inspector General, 43 year old Tonya Rhodes-Brown of Windsor, Illinois was arrested yesterday and charged with TennCare fraud and theft of services…both are class D felonies…which are punishable by 2-12 years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000.
Investigators say that Rhodes-Brown used a McMinn county Tennessee address to receive more than $5700 in payments for claims filed by the Illinois resident. That case will be prosecuted by the McMinn County district attorney. The Office of the Inspector General reminds citizens that they have their OIG Cash For Tips program where Tennesseans can get cash rewards for tips that lead to convictions for TennCare fraud.
