Investigators With JCSO Release Names Involved In White Pine Shooting

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s office has released the names of the shooter and the person killed in White Pine last weekend. Deputies were called to an address on Beth Carr Rd in White Pine on Saturday afternoon, November 9 in regards to the report of a shooting. When deputies arrived, they found 45 year old Joshua David Barnes dead from a gunshot. The shooter, 37 year old Jason Scalf of Dandridge, was still on the scene. Scalf was taken into custody at this time. Investigators say that Scalf shot Barnes during an altercation. He has yet to be charged as that investigation is still ongoing.
