Jefferson Co Man Injured In Explosion

A Jefferson County man had to be airlifted to a Knoxville hospital after being seriously injured in an explosion at the Lake Cove Resort on Douglas Lake. That resort is located off Oak Grove Road near the I-40 bridge over Douglas Lake. Jefferson County authorities say the 62 year old man had just laid down in his camper around 4pm Thursday when the explosion happened, which caused two campers to catch on fire. The man had to be airlifted to the UT Medical Center with injuries said to be life threatening. The arson unit with the TBI is now investigating what caused that explosion.
