Jefferson County Teacher Under Investigation
A Jefferson County teacher is under investigation. According to the Jefferson City Police Department, they have received multiple assault complaints by teachers and students about a substitute teacher at Jefferson Elementary School. Police say the complaints stem from an incident that happened on Thursday at the school. According to the Jefferson city police department, one student was smacked in the hand when he raised his hand to ask a question. Another student was allegedly grabbed by the shoulders and pushed. The teacher was placed on leave Friday after the allegations surfaced. Jefferson County schools and the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services are assisting in the police investigation. Their findings will be turned over to the District Attorney General Jimmy Dunn’s office.
