K-9 Apprehends Man With Multiple Warrants
A man is in the Cocke County jail after an attempt at evading arrest Sunday afternoon. Deputy Blake Cupp noticed a vehicle on Smith Street with expired tags. Upon attempting a traffic stop, that vehicle sped away turning onto Woodson Rd…then onto Bonanza Drive…where that vehicle crashed into a residential fence. The driver jumped out of the car and fled on foot…Deputy Cupp warned the offender that the K-9 was onboard. The K-9 officer was dispatched and apprehended the man by grabbing ahold of the man’s leg. The driver was identified as Timothy Lance…who had 3 outstanding warrants in Cocke County, 1 warrant in Hamblen County and an extradition warrant out of North Carolina for parole violation. After a trip to the hospital to take care of the K-9 bite…Lance was transported to the Cocke County jail.
