Kicking in the Door

Newport officers were called Thursday night to a residence on Myers Circle to a report of a man breaking out a window and kicking down a door. The suspect, Mr Paris Jones fled the scene before officers arrived, and was located hiding in some nearby woods. The complainant, Ms Melinda Lewis told the officers that Mr Jones returned to the residence after he had been asked to leave. She stated that he wanted clothes and began yelling and screaming outside the residence. He then began breaking the window and kicking in the back door. He then fled on foot, and before leaving, he told Ms Lewis he would be back with a gun to shoot her. Mr. Jones was placed under arrest and transported to the Cocke County Jail.
