Lady Vols Respond To Losing Streak With Big Win
Besides the return of Kellie Harper to Rocky Top, the biggest news going into the game between the lady Vols and the Missouri Tigers was how the team would respond to their worst loss in program history and the harsh words that came from their coach Kim Caldwell. The answer to that question was answered early last night. The Lady Vols outscorted the Tigers 29-13 after one quarter, and they never let off the gas.
Tennessee shot 52% from the field and forced 21 turnovers in a 98-53 win, spoiling the return of Kellie Harper as Missouri’s coach. The 98 point total is the largest scoring ouput against another SEC team this season. Janiah Barker led the way with 22 points and Talaysia Cooper provided 17 more in a much needed win. A big test looms on Sunday as Kim Caldwell’s Lady Vols will host #4 ranked Texas at Food City Center. That game tips off at 3pm and will be on ESPN.
