Law Enforcement Agencies Searching For Escaped Hancock County Murder Suspect
A multi-county manhunt is underway for an escaped murder suspect in Hancock County. Authorities say that 48 year old Joshua Wayne Metcalf escaped from the Hancock County jail on Thursday. He is charged with murdering his brother. Multiple counties around the area have put out alerts to the public to be on the lookout for Metcalf. The TBI has added him to their Most Wanted List and has posted a $2,500 reward for information leading to his capture.
Hancock County schools were put on lockdown on Thursday after Metcalf escaped. Hancock County schools are closed today. Metcalf is described as being 5′7″ tall, 180 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone spotting Metcalf should immediately call police or call 1-800-TBI-FIND.
