Man Arrested After Breaking Into Home
A man is in jail after breaking into a home in Newport Sunday night. Paulito Gonzalez had called 911 saying that a man was trying to kick in his front door. While police were in route, Gonzalez advised 911 that the suspect had indeed made entry into his home. Police arrived and spotted a man pushing a bicycle away from the residence. Neighbors told police that man was the suspect. That man was 42 year old Josh Ashmore, who appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance. During a search of a backpack in Ashmore’s possession, police found an empty jar of Old Smoky Moonshine plus several items of clothing, adjustable pliers and phone cords. Ashmore was arrested and charged with aggravated burglary, vandalism under $1,000 and public intoxication.
