Man Arrested For Aggravated Assault and Burglary

A man is in custody after he crawled through a bedroom window and assaulted a woman. Mandy Rucker told Newport police that shortly after midnight Monday morning she was awakened to find 23 year old Isiah Oglesby standing in her bedroom after he entered through the window. Her sister and friends staying in the home were awakened to Many Rucker screaming. When they got to the bedroom, Mandy was on the floor. She told police that Oglesby had tried to choke her and had struck her in the head and face with his fist…marks on her face confirmed her story. Oglesby ran from the home before police arrived but was found a short time later on Graham Street. Police say he appeared to be under the influence of Meth, as a small amount was found on him. He has been charged with breaking and entering, aggravated burglary and aggravated assault. Oglesby has been arrested back in December for assaulting Mandy Rucker and had been trespassed from that property.
