Man Arrested For Assault After Girlfriend Refuses To Buy More Booze
A man was arrested early Sunday morning after a domestic incident in Newport. According to Newport police, a female juvenile had called 911 saying she needed help at her mother’s address. 911 then lost contact with that juvenile. Police arrived at the residence but the man inside would not let them in. Two supervising officers were called to the scene and the decision was made to enter the home due to the circumstances.
Upon entering the home the man inside, 36 year old Christopher McFalls, ran out the back door. McFalls, who was intoxicated, quickly ran out of breath. He attempted to resist officers, including trying to grab the taser of one officer, but was soon taken into custody.
McFalls’ girlfriend told police that McFalls had been drinking all day. When she refused to take him for more alcohol, he began to throwing furniture and other items around the house. The woman said she was on the phone with her juvenile daughter when the incident occurred and her daughter called for help. McFalls is charged with Domestic Assault, Resisting Arrest and Evading. According to police, McFalls has had multiple incidents of domestic assault.
