Man Arrested For Domestic Assault

A man was arrested Monday morning in Newport for assaulting a woman. Police responded to a room at the Best Western hotel in Newport. 65 year old James Turner told officers he and his son, 42 year old Jonathan Turner had gotten into a verbal argument in the room. James said he left the room to get away from his son, and that is when Jonathan Turner assaulted 38 year old Krystal Hurley, James Turner’s daughter. According to Krystal Hurley, Johnathan Turner drug her off the bed and held her down on the floor with his foot on her head. Jonathan Turner had left the hotel prior to officer’s arrival. He was found a short time later across Cosby Hwy at Kenjo Market and was taken into custody charged with domestic assault.
