Man Arrested For Panhandling

Newport police arrested a man Sunday for panhandling after the man was going out into traffic. Police say that 43 year old Jeremiah Wilner had been trespassed from the Wal-Mart property in Newport, which includes Wendy’s parking lot. Wilner was there Sunday afternoon holding a sign that read ” Need Beer”, Wilner would step out in front of vehicles as they were entering the parking lot trying to stop them to solicit money. Wilner, who smelled of alcohol was arrested and charged with criminal trespass.
