Man Arrested Leaving Scene Of Accident
A man was arrested last week after being seen by a Cocke County deputy walking down Hwy 160, covered in blood. 21 year old Andrew Hefner told the deputy that he had been attacked by a dog and was trying to get to his grandparents’ house. Hefner though smelled of alcohol and appeared to be under the influence. A short time later, deputies were dispatched to a location on Highway 160 where a Toyota Camry had been crashed into a ditch. There was blood and glass all over the drivers’ seat and a bottle of Jack Daniels behind the seat. The vehicle came back registered to Hefner. He was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and DUI among several other charges.
