Man Tries To Break Into Home In Hamblen Co With Chainsaw
A man is in jail in Hamblen County after he tried to break into a home using a chainsaw. The Hamblen County Sheriff’s office says that early Wedneday morning 42 year old Brian Scott Walker tried to break into a home occupied by a couple and their 13 year old son. Investigators say that Walker tried to cut his way into the home by using a chainsaw on the front door. When that was not successful, Walker set the house on fire and then waited outside with the chainsaw for the occupants to come out of the home. The sheriff’s office says the three people inside escaped the home through a basement door, but when they got to their vehicle, found that the tires had been slashed. Walker had fled from the scene before police arrived. However, he was found and taken into custody a short time later. He is currently being held without bond on three counts of attempted first-degree murder, three counts of aggravated assault, especially aggravated kidnapping and aggravated arson. The home was a total loss.
