Man Wanted For Aggravated Rape Turns Himself In
A man wanted for the aggravated rape of a minor in Hawkins County has turned himself in. Authorities with the Hawkins County Sheriff’s office say that 21 year old Hunter Everett Richmond who is from Springfield TN north of Nashville was wanted for allegedly engaging in unlawful sex acts with a juvenile that resulted in bodily harm to that juvenile in late August of 2020. The Hawkins County grand jury had returned a true bill charging him with aggravated rape a while back. Richmond showed up at the Hawkins County sheriff’s office earlier this week and told deputies he wanted to turn himself in. Aggravated Rape is listed as a class A felony in the state of Tennessee…which is considered the most serious of felonies. Those convicted of a class A felony could receive anywhere from 15 to 60 years in prison and be fined as much as $50,000.
