Man Wanted For Attempted Murder Arrested In Sevier County

A man wanted for attempted murder in North Carolina was arrested Friday in Sevier County. Gatlinburg police say that a license plate reading camera in Gatlinburg alerted police to a car that had been linked to an attempted murder in Hertford county, NC earlier this week.

The Pigeon Forge Police Department then spotted the vehicle in the McCarter Hollow area, which is near Dollywood. Police surrounded the car just outside the Dollywood entrance, but no one was inside. Gatlinburg Police later spotted the suspect on Mills Park Road, which is near the Rocky Top Sports Complex. The suspect, whose identity was not released, was taken into custody without incident. The suspect faces charges in North Carolina of attempted first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.
