McCullough Charged with Aggravated Burglary
Wednesday evening, Cocke County Deputies responded to a home on Brooks Ridge Road about a male subject on the property who had stolen items from the property owner. Upon arrival deputy Alison Brooks saw a Chevy Cobalt exiting a dirt pathway…when she blocked the vehicle’s path, the driver identified as 42 year old Christopher McCullough took off on foot into the woods. A short time later, deputies were notified that a volunteer fireman had spotted McCullough in a field off of Sail Road walking towards Friendship Road. Deputies arrived and spotted McCullough who ran into the woods again. He was finally found trying to hide in a shed. McCullough was ordered out of the shed at gunpoint and complied. Heath Rhodes who is the property owner where everything began told police that McCullough had broken into a camper on the property and was living in it. Rhodes stated that McCullough had stolen two generators from the property. McCullough admitted to the theft and that he had sold both generators. McCullough has been charged with two counts of theft over $1,000, aggravated burglary and evading arrest…all felony charges.
