Megan Boswell Found Guilty On All Counts
A Sullivan County jury has found Megan Boswell guilty on all charges against her regarding the death of her 15 month old daughter, Evelyn Boswell. Evelyn Boswell’s body was found in March of 2020, after she went missing in December 2019.
The jury took just 4 ½ hours between Wednesday afternoon and this morning to reach their verdict. That means Megan Boswell was found guilty on all three first degree murder charges she faced.
That includes First-degree premeditated murder; First-degree murder in the perpetration of aggravated child abuse; and First-degree murder in the perpetration of aggravated child neglect
The jury also returned guilty verdicts in the charges of Aggravated child abuse; Aggravated child neglect; Tampering with evidence; 11 counts of filing a false report; Abuse of a corpse and Failure to report a death under suspicious, unusual or unnatural circumstances.
During the weeklong trial, prosecutors called more than 30 witnesses to the stand and presented mountains of evidence. Boswell’s defense did not call one witness, but instead tried to cause doubt in its cross examination of the state’s witnesses. The trial is now undergoing its sentencing phase. Megan Boswell faces either life in prison without parole or life in prison with the possibility of parole. Megan Boswell, who is in her mid-20’s, would be in her 60’s before she could be released.
