Megan Boswell To Be Back In Court Today
The woman who is charged with killing her 15 month old daughter over two years ago, will be back in court today. Megan Boswell back in 2020 was accused of killing her daughter Evelyn Boswell and then hiding the body. She was arrested in March of 2020. Boswell will be in Sullivan County court with her attorneys today, who along with prosecutors will be discussing two pre-trial motions. One is a severence motion to split Boswell’s trial into two trials instead of one. The defense wants one trial for the murder, child abuse and neglect charges and another trial for her false reporting and other charges. Prosecutors say one trial gives a full view of the case.
The other motion revolves around a jury questionnaire to be sent out to all prospective jurors. That questionnaire is being used to gauge how much publicity in this case could taint the jury pool. The defense is seeking a change in venue out of Sullivan County. The judge wants the questionnaire done before he makes a decision on moving the trial. Megan Boswell’s trial is scheduled to begin September 26th.
