Morristown Man Killed Over Dispute About Tools
A Morristown man is dead after an argument with his neighbor over tools. Last year, Michael Greene reported to police that he had some tools stolen from his home. According to police, Justin McKee, Greene’s neighbor was cleaning around his home last week and found several tools belonging to Greene. So, he called Greene to come over and claim his tools. On Friday, McKee found more of what he thought were Greene’s tools, so he called Greene to come over. The men then got into a disagreement over which tools were Greene’s and which were McKee’s. According to police, that is when McKee hit 55 year old Michael Greene in the chest with a sledgehammer, breaking the head of the hammer off. McKee then stabbed Greene with the broken sledgehammer handle. McKee then struck Greene numerous time in the head with an aluminum baseball bat. McKee then went to a neighbor’s house and called police. Greene was flown to the UT Medical Center in Knoxville but was pronounced dead late Friday night. McKee has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder. That investigation is ongoing.
