Morristown Man Sentenced To 8 Years In Prison
A repeat offender has been sentenced to 8 years in prison for his role in a 2019 shooting. On Thursday, 32 year old Brandon Royce Clark of Morristown was sentenced in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee at Greeneville regarding his involvement in an incident that led to his shooting two individuals near Boatsman Mountain Road in Morristown on July 13, 2019. Clark was stopped the following day by a member of the Hamblen County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit who was looking for the vehicle involved in the shooting and Clark was found to be in possession of a .380 semi-automatic pistol….he had just been released from prison 2 months earlier after being convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm following a December 2010 event in which he fired shots into an occupied vehicle. Yesterday judge Clifton L. Corker sentenced Clark to 96 months in prison followed by three years on supervised release…that is to be run consecutively to a 21-month term of imprisonment with one year of supervised release to follow based on a revocation of supervised release for that prior conviction. Clark had pled guilty to one count of being a convicted felon in the unlawful possession of a firearm.
