Morristown Police Department Hosting 23rd Citizens Police Academy

The Morristown Police Department is getting ready for its 23rd Citizen’s Police Academy. The Morristown Police Department says upon completion of the citizen’s police academy course, participating citizens will have a better understanding of the daily operations of the Morristown Police Department. The class begins May 17th and runs until June 21st. Classes will be held at the Police Department each Tuesday night from 6pm until 9:30 pm….with a few Thursday classes as well. Academy participants will become familiar with the Morristown Police Department through hands-on exercises. They will also be allowed to complete an 8-hour ride along with an officer. There is limited space so it is first come first serve…applications can be picked up at the Morristown Police Department. They need to be turned in by this Friday April 29th. All applicants have to undergo a background check.
