NC Man Arrested For Aggravated Assault

A North Carolina man was arrested Saturday in Cocke County after attempting to steal a vehicle, then crashing it into a wall. According to the Cocke county Sheriff’s office, 18 year old Adam Anteur of Durham, NC overpowered the driver of a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox, pulling her out to steal the vehicle. The female driver and two other female passengers attempted to get Anteur out of the vehicle, but he put the SUV in reverse, dragging the girls 50 feet across the parking lot before crashing into a wall at 1500 Pinnacles Way. Anteur then attacked another woman to steal her car, before he was stopped by witnesses who held him until law enforcement arrived.

The three ladies from the Chevrolet Equinox were transported to Morristown Hamblen hospital for their injuries. Anteur was cleared medically and then transported to the Cocke County jail where he was charged with three counts of Aggravated Assault, one count of Assault and two counts of Theft of Property.
