Newport Church Of God Overflowing With Items For Flood Victims

Tennessee is known as the Volunteer State. That motto is shining right now in Cocke County at many churches and organizations around and outside the county. Oner of those helping is the Newport Church Of God on Old Knoxville Highway. Currently the church is giving out bottled water, plus non-perishable food items. For instance, someone bought out an entire bread store and donated those items for the church to give away to those in need. They have toiletries available along with buckets filled with items for the kids and also for adults. Pastor Andy Turner says the church has also worked out arrangements to bring portable showers to their facility along with a portable water filtration system. Food trucks will also be on hand Wednesday. This is at the Newport Church of God at 407 Old Knoxville Highway in Newport.

This is just one of many churches in Cocke County that are working hard to serve those in need during this crisis.
