Newport Man Arrested For Criminal Trespass

Newport police arrested a man for trespassing after he entered and refused to leave a residence. Nick Holt of the Newport Housing Authority told police that they received an emergency call about a man named Gary Greer. According to a witness, the 50 year old Greer entered the apartment of Maci Harris…claiming he was helping roll in a cooler to that apartment. He was told his help was not needed but entered anyway and refused to leave…Greer began asking for medication and began inquiring about Harris’ young children. Holt stated he arrived on scene and was able to get Greet outside. Police took Greer into custody and charged him with criminal trespass…he also was wanted for violation of probation.
