Newport Police Called To Home Theft

A Newport man called police and stated that he and his family are currently in Texas but had seen on video surveillance from home a silver SUV circling his home. Miguel Gutierrez told police he had seen that same SUV circle his home on March 19th and wanted police to run by and check his home. When police arrived they found the back door of the home had been damaged from being pried open. Police cleared the home and called Gutierrez to ask of any valuables in the home, he told them there was a 70″ LG TV in the living room…that tv is no longer there. looking at video surveillance, police noted the same silver Chevy SUV that had circled the Gutierrez home on March 19th was back on Sunday at 2:08pm with a trailer hitched behind. The vehicle can be seen leaving quickly from the home at 2:13pm. Police have stepped up patrols around that home and are currently looking for the suspects in that theft.
