Newport Utilities Now Pulling Water

Good News! Newport Utilities is reporting they are now pulling water into their treatment plant. They are currently testing the lines and checking for leaks and any other problems.

If you do not have water, you may start seeing your water come off and on as that testing continues. If you do get water, Newport Utilities is asking you to continue to conserve water usage as they need to get pressure back in the water lines, fill tanks, and get more water to more people faster. The boil order is still in effect. If you do get water, it still needs to be boiled for three minutes before you can use it for drinking, brushing teeth or food preparation. Cocke County EMA Director Joe Esway says it is best to not use the water for now. It is best to continue using bottled water instead.
