Newport Utilities Partnering With TVA EnergyRight
Newport Utilities has announced they have paired with TVA EnergyRight to offer to its customers the Home Uplift program. That is a program for owners of manufactured homes to receive free energy upgrades to those homes…that will increase energy efficiency and lower energy costs in those homes. The energy upgrades will be installed by a member of the TVA-trained Quality Contractor Network.
To be Eligible, manufactured homes must be on a permanent foundation, built after 1976, owner occupied and undergo an energy audit. The owner must meet income eligibility (200% of the federal poverty level or below) and be the primary account holder of active electric service for one year.
Upgrades typically made through the program include HVAC repair/replacement, insulation, air penetration reduction, replacing windows and doors, as well as minor health and safety repairs that enable energy upgrades.
Newport Utilities will accept program applications through September 15th of this year and those applications are available by calling 888-986-7262 or emailing support@mytva.com. Newport Utilities does stress that due to limited funding for only four manufactured homes, qualified participants will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
