Newport Utilities Water Status – State Waiving Well Testing Fee
Newport Utilities is reporting that most of Cocke County has water service restored. There may be some outlying areas that are still without water, but they should have service restored soon. The water is still not safe to drink, so make sure you are boiling that water. Cocke County Mayor Rob Mathis says they have had reports of individuals getting sick because they have ingested the water. Remember your pets. If you can’t drink the water, they should not drink it either.
