No Third Term For Cocke County Mayor Crystal Webb Ottinger

Cocke County Mayor Crystal Webb Ottinger will not seek re-election in 2022. Mayor Ottinger released a statement on Tuesday, May 4th, that after prayer and careful consideration she has decided to not seek a third term as county mayor. Ottinger said “The last 7 years have been the most rewarding as well as the most challenging of my life”.

By making this announcement a year before the primary election, Ottinger hopes a candidate can come forward that her supporters can get behind. Crystal Webb Ottinger was originally elected to the office of county mayor in 2014.

Cocke County Trustee Rob Mathis announced his candidacy for Cocke County mayor last month.
