Pack The Bag Fundraiser

Second Harvest Food Bank does a monthly food distribution in Cocke County. That comes the 4th Tuesday of the month at the Cocke County Fairgrounds. This month’s food distribution is set for February 24.

Second Harvest also makes sure kids have a good meal, after they leave school with the Food For Kids program. Food for Kids partners with more than 300 public schools to send home nutritious and kid-friendly food. Every child receives 4 complete meals, 4 snacks and 1 milk each week. That’s 9 total items to help cover breakfasts, lunches and dinners, as well as snacks. That’s weekly meals for 15,458 students who otherwise might miss meals outside of school.

To support the program, Second Harvest holds its annual Pack The Bag Fundraiser. That fundraiser begins 2/12 and runs through February 23. A gift of $140 sponsors a child for the entire school year. If you would like more information or donate…go to the website SecondHarvestETN.org/pack-the-bag/.
