Parrottsville Fire Depart. Faces Challenges In Structure Fire
The Parrottsville Fire Department encountered a very difficult situation early Wednesday morning (1/28) when they were called to a structure fire on Stokes Valley Way, which is north of Parrottsville off of Baysinger Road. The call came in around 5:30am, but poor road conditions because of the recent winter weather kept normal fire trucks from getting to the site. Brush trucks were then brought in from agencies across the county and also from Greene County.
Firefighters had the blaze under control by about 8:15am and the fire was out and fire crews leaving just before 1pm. All of the occupants of the home were able to get out safely.
In addiation to the Parrottsville Fire Department, the Cocke County, Long Creek, Del Rio, and Centerview fire departments responded from Cocke County. In addition the Chestnut Hill fire department from Jefferson County and the St. James and Caney Branch departments from Greene County also responded.
