Plans For Downtown Newport On December 2 Revealed
The Cocke County Partnership/Chamber of Commerce has a big day planned in Newport for Friday December 2nd. That is the day…or should we say evening…for the Newport Christmas Parade. However, things kick off before that. Starting at 4pm, downtown Newport will be the place to be as The Cocke County High School Choir will be caroling throughout Downtown. Downtown Businesses will be keeping their doors open later serving up hot chocolate, cookies, and gift items. The Avenue, Fruit Jar Alley and Addie & Emma’s will also be open to help with your Christmas shopping. If children would like to do some Christmas shopping for their parents, Empower Cocke County will have a special Children’s Store open just for the kids to do their shopping. The Kiwanis Train will be operating as well. The New Duncan & Greer Center will be welcoming Snowbird Coffee Company in what is soon to be their new home. Goodwater Vineyards will be set up inside with great gift ideas for the holidays. Then at 6:30…it’s the main event as the Christmas Parade begins. The parade’s theme this year is “Christmas Nights & Magical Lights.” You can check out all the activities and all the businesses that will be participating by going to the Cocke County Partnership’s Facebook page.
