Police Respond To Michael’s Bar

Police responded to Michael’s Bar in Newport early Sunday morning about a man unconscious in the parking lot. The 29 year old victim, Christopher Rhodes, had to be transported via ambulance to the UT Medical Center in Knoxville for his injuries. In speaking with witnesses on the scene, police determined that an altercation took place between Rhodes and 26 year old Tyler Clevenger. The fight left Rhodes on the ground with Clevenger and a second man, 27 year old Cody Earls attacking him. witnesses say at one point Clevenger slammed Rhodes’ head down onto the concrete. Both Clevenger and Earls smelled of alcohol. Both were arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, Disorderly Conduct and Public Intoxication.
