Police Respond To Three Car Accident

One person was injured in a three car accident Tuesday afternoon in Newport. Piper Davis of Newport told police she was turning left from westbound Hwy 25/70 onto Smoky Mountain Lane. She admitted that a tractor trailer heading in the outer eastbound lane was blocking her view. She turned and struck a vehicle driven by Robin Copley of New Market. Copley’s vehicle then struck a third vehicle driven by Benjamin Lucot of Newport. Robin Copley was injured in that accident and transported to the Newport Medical Center with a possible serious injury. David was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
