Publix To Open In Morristown

If you live in Newport and like shopping at Publix, the closest store right now is in Sevierville. That is about to change. Publix announced on Monday their plans to move into Morristown. Publix will build their new store on Bellwood Road near the intersection with Andrew Johnson Highway. This will be near the Wal-Mart on the west side of Morristown. The store will officially be called “Publix at Bellwood Farms” and will be 46,000 square feet.

A grand opening date will be announced at a later date. Publix is based in Lakeland, Florida and operates 1300 stores nationally. The Morristown location will be store number nine in East Tennessee with two stores currently in Sevier County and one in Greene County. The others are in Knoxville and the Tri-Cities area.
